Public Archaeology

History at Night

The History at Night program has been hosted by the Friends for over seven seasons. Each year, this popular program brings authors, historians, and speakers to San Felipe who share content relevant to the story of San Felipe. Print Shop

The printing press is an important part of the San Felipe story. This history is preserved not only in the permanent museum exhibit but also at the print shop in the Villa de Austin. Father of Texas Day

For over ninety years, the Friends have hosted The Father of Texas Day.

This early November celebration has taken various forms over the years, including school programs, militia reenactments with cannons, and even an archaeological dig. Click here to learn more.
