Old 300 Learning Hall, 6pm - “San Felipe Cemetery: Form, Function and Founders”. Presented by Allison Harrell

The Father of Texas event celebrates all things Stephen F. Austin as we approach his 233rd birthday on November 3.

Join the Friends organization as well as the staff and volunteers of the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site in celebrating local history with a day filled with family fun, reenactors, historic demonstrations, and cake! Free admission is available to all attendees.

Doors open at 9am with continuous activities until 4pm. If you would like to join the Friends or renew your membership in person, this is the perfect opportunity to do so! Your membership directly funds events such as Father of Texas, which includes historically-prepared food for volunteers, the birthday cake served to museum guests, craft supplies for family activities, and more!

6pm @ Old 300 Learning Hall - Join us as site Education Programs Coordinator, Nicole Shadle, takes a deep dive into letters written by the Austin family to learn more about Stephen F. Austin’s relationship with his parents and siblings, including how his familial bonds helped shape early Texas and his leadership as Empresario.
