The Friends of
San Felipe de Austin

Supporting Texas history and the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site

Since its formation in 1928, the Friends of San Felipe de Austin have helped protect and preserve the original site and history of San Felipe de Austin, the center of Austin’s Colony in Texas. For almost 100 years, community members, historians, descendants, and others have played vital roles in establishing the San Felipe de Austin State Historic Site as one of Texas's premier historic sites.

Though the State of Texas owns the site, people like you have helped preserve it and bring its history to life. Click the Programs menu to learn more about the specific initiatives funded by the Friends.

Click the About button to see how you can help make a difference and take an active role in educating the public about this important history.

This is the perfect opportunity to join the Friends and make your mark in preserving local history.
